Cascadia Premier League has partnered with USASA for the 2023 season. In doing so, league and club personnel will be required in certain circumstances to have completed SafeSport's training through the United States Soccer Federation.
Personnel who will be required to complete SafeSport training:
- All league staff
- All club staff and coaches
- All players should any of the clubs players be under the age of 18. (If no players are under the age of 18, the on field players will not have to complete the training. If a player is a player/coach, that player/coach will need to complete SafeSport training regardless of the age of the other players).
You can find relevant information here on how to complete your SafeSport training. You should also receive an email with instructions on next steps once registration is complete.
Please be aware that under the Protecting Young Victims from Sexual Abuse and SafeSport Authorization Act of 2017, adults who work in youth sports that compete across state lines and/or internationally are “mandatory reporters” who have an obligation to report to law enforcement facts giving them a reason to suspect child abuse within 24 hours of becoming aware of the facts. Reporting to U.S. Soccer will not fulfill your obligation under federal law—you must still report to law enforcement.
